The research group led by Prof. Antonio La Marca at the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences for Mothers, Children and Adults (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia) focuses on translational and clinical research in human reproduction. Its scientific activities investigate the endocrine regulation of the hypothalamic–pituitary–ovarian axis, the pathophysiology of folliculogenesis, and the molecular bases of conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome and menopause. Particular emphasis is placed on markers of ovarian reserve—first and foremost Anti-Müllerian Hormone—and on the development of predictive models and personalized therapeutic strategies for ovarian stimulation and fertility preservation. The group also integrates advanced expertise in germ cell biology, assisted reproductive technologies, oncofertility, and the study of uterine fibroids, contributing to diagnostic and therapeutic innovation in the field of reproductive health.
